Specification Change (Plating Process)

We would like to inform you about a specification change for various products we manufacture and distribute.

For some of our products, primarily in the “1911 Series,” “Professional Gear Series,” and “Shikiori Series,” we have traditionally used gold plating for decoration. However, we will be changing to Gold Ion Plating (IP) to continue providing stable, high-quality products.

IP, a type of plating used in space science technology, offers stable color development and extremely robust properties. It provides excellent corrosion resistance to fountain pen ink and is less likely to peel over time, ensuring that writing instruments such as fountain pens remain beautiful for long-term use. The elegant, understated color of IP blends well with the user’s hand and is suitable for any occasion, making it an ideal decoration for our staple items.

As we transition to this new specification, the affected products will be switched over sequentially. Therefore, for a certain period, both new and old products may be mixed in stores and distribution stages. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.

Specification Change Details

Change in Plating Process for Metal Parts from Gold Plating to Gold Ion Plating (IP Gold)

Single-color nib surfaces will no longer use gold plating, changing to solid gold color (without plating).
There is no change to the surface processing of bi-color nibs
